Fire Spirit
A small flame elemental that spawns when placing light sources like torches and lanterns.
Fire Spirits pop into existence when you place a light source. They follow you around and drop useful Nether materials when killed.
Stats
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | 10 HP |
| Damage | None to player (passively ignites nearby hostile mobs) |
| Speed | Slow |
| XP Reward | 2 |
| Fire Immune | Yes |
Spawning
They don't spawn naturally. Place any of these blocks for a chance to summon one (each block has its own spawn chance):
- Torch (~4%) and Soul Torch (~5%)
- Lantern (~8%) and Soul Lantern (~9%)
- Campfire (~11%) and Soul Campfire (~11%)
Soul-tier light sources spawn the Soul variant (different color). Naming a Fire Spirit anything other than its default name makes it persistent (won't despawn).
Behavior
- Won't attack the player.
- Passively ignites any monster or hoglin within ~8 blocks every tick (sets them on fire for 7 seconds).
- Follows their owner closely.
- Despawns after 10 minutes of inactivity or if their owner is more than 64 blocks away.
- Immune to fire damage.

Healing Flames are an alchemy ingredient. Fire Spirits are a solid early-game source for them.
